When Lucie and Martin envisioned their wedding day, they dreamed of something relaxed yet undeniably glamorous. With a ceremony steeped in history at Chester Town Hall, followed by a celebration at the effortlessly stylish Opera Grill, their vision needed styling that could hold its own against iconic backdrops—and that’s exactly where The Event Edit stepped in.
We were entrusted with transforming the Opera Grill into a sophisticated party space brimming with atmosphere. Working closely with Lucie in the lead-up to her big day, our team took the reins—liaising directly with the venue so she could focus on enjoying the moment, not managing logistics.
The Design Brief: Relaxed Elegance with an Edge
Lucie was clear in her brief: she wanted a look that felt relaxed, stylish, and full of personality. Set against Opera Grill’s industrial backdrop, we layered in refined, romantic touches—suspended disco balls, flickering candlelight, and fresh roses—to transform the space into an intimate, contemporary celebration.
The tablescape was refined and romantic, styled with:
Fresh long-stem roses in delicate bud vases
A curated mix of pillar and taper candles for warmth and movement
A bespoke neon sign set within a sculptural pampas corner arrangement, acting as a focal point for the evening and a perfect backdrop for guest photos
Every element was thoughtfully chosen to echo the couple’s personality while complementing the venue’s architecture and existing decor.
